Component 2c is all about keeping the classroom running seamlessly without any time for students to get off task or become distracted. It is based deeply upon effective use of time to maximize and keep the learning flowing. This component is important due to how correct use of it will create a good routine that will keep the students engaged within their learning. Management of instructional groups is where the teacher barely intervenes but helps the students work well together and get things done. The management of transitions is an important element that keeps the flow of the classroom going without any type of hiccup or distraction. The last element pertaining to management deals with materials and supplies; the teacher has everything they need to properly teach the lesson and the students are able to distribute materials with ease. Finally, performance of non-instructional duties is where the teacher can quickly and accurately get through aspects of attendance or returning papers in a manner that does not take away from the class.
I can implement this component by using the time within the classroom wisely. By making sure transitions are smooth and I manage all the elements required, I can keep my students engaged in learning. This way they remained with the lesson instead of possible distractors. Artifacts:
Arranging students into groups that compliment their strengths and remedy their weaknesses so they work well together
Arranging the classroom so any possible distractions, such as windows, stay behind them so they remain focused
Materials for students to use are organized and labeled for easy finding
