Component 4e is focused on growth as a teacher and professional. It discusses how educators should be constantly growing in their knowledge and should not be stagnant. This includes staying informed, increasing skills, and learning about new techniques. As the education world and the world in general changes, teachers should also be adapting to it. Teachers can go to each other for new knowledge or attend professional development events. Any way they can grow, the better. This component is important because it reminds you that everyone can still grow, even after their get their Bachelor's or their Master's.
Enhancement of content knowledge and pedagogical skill pushes teachers to continue to learn through courses, books, and staying up-to-date on the current thinking on instruction. Receptivity to feedback from colleagues relates to teachers forming their own networks to gain support and feedback from others. Service to the profession is where teachers are apart of committees or organizations so they can grow in both personal and professional ways. I can implement this in the classroom by continuing to grow my PLN, attending ed camps or seminars, and reading deeply in new knowledge.
