Component 4d revolved around becoming a part of the professional community and building that respect and rapport. By working with colleagues to share ideas and new techniques that could future help students in the classroom. There is a shared mutual support and respect within the professional community that helps all teachers strive to improve for their students. This goes beyond just the classroom and into school activities where teachers should also advise, support, or take part in. It is a good visual way to show parents that you really are investing in their child. This component is important because becoming apart of the professional community also means growing as a person and teacher. Through these actions you show you care about your own growth of knowledge. Not just for yourself, but also for your students.
Relationships with colleagues covers the idea of maintaining relationships with their co-workers that involve sharing, planning, and working to make their instructional abilities better, and their student success greater. Involvement in a culture of professional inquiry is no being afraid to ask questions in the learning community because they all should support any effort to be a better teacher. Service to school is reaching beyond the classroom by contributing to school-wide projects or events. Lastly, participation in school and district projects involves contributing and supporting school/district projects that are working to help and improve the professional community. I can implement this in the classroom by really getting involved in the professional community and soaking up all the knowledge others have to offer me.
