Description ClassCraft is an interesting behavior management tool that is geared towards middle and high school students. It set up similar to a video game where students each have an avatar with a certain class. These avatars then gain experience points (XP), action points (AP), health points (HP), and gold pieces (GP) to then do with in various things. To use ClassCraft, the teacher can set up their class into multiple teams, assigning students an avatar or even letting them create one. Students can then gain XP or special points for doing assignments, answering questions, or helping others. It can be used as a fun and exciting way to get students to own their actions and learning in class.
Danielson Tie-In This tool would fit mostly in domain 2 and 3. Overall it is a classroom management tool to keep the classroom environment at ease. Furthermore, since it would be used during instruction and work time, it could also fall there. ClassCraft could also be used as a way of formative assessment throughout a lesson to make sure students are understanding the content. Directly I link this tool to element 2d since it can help students stay on track and working hard in the classroom. It also could go with 3d for monitoring where students are currently at in their learning.
Reflection I can use this tool in the classroom for both management and formative assessment. It is a fun way to keep students engaged and interested. A teacher could even use more physical incentives for students to stay involved. I could possibly see myself using this in the classroom, however I feel it could become a distraction. Due to how the teacher has to click around for when students do things, it could pull away from the lesson. I think it could be used best in a small class with less students so they are easy to find and record their actions on ClassCraft.
