Component 3e is a teacher's ability to adjust a lesson and respond to conditions. Part of it is knowing how a lesson may go, but this often comes with experience. Typically, a lesson can go another way or a teachable moment can appear. These are times to respond in order to provide students a more authentic learning experience and engage them deeply with in. It is important because teachers need to be able to adjust! Whether this occurs before or during a lesson, an open mind to have that teachable moment is crucial.
Lesson adjustment is where experienced teachers can make adjustments whenever is need. It often depends on a teacher's other instructional strategies and their confidence to make a change when needed. Response to students is taking the opportunity during a lesson to address an issue or thought when it arises. These are teachable moments that often give the students deep glimpses into the world. Persistence is having that drive and patience to help students when they find a difficulty in learning. It is finding a different approach to help the student be successful in the classroom. I can implement this component in the classroom through pulling student interests into lessons, addressing needs when they happen, and being open to whatever may occur during the teaching/learning process.
